Part 3 of Q-Lab's 3-Part Webinar Series on Operator Training

Q-FOG Cyclic corrosion chambers are designed to help assess the corrosion resistance of parts or coatings. By utilizing temperature control, humidity control, and applications of electrolyte (salt) solution, a system can be tested in a fraction of the time it would take to evaluate performance in the field. This presentation will cover the practical operation and maintenance of Q-FOG SSP (Salt Spray/Prohesion), Q-FOG CCT (Cyclic Corrosion Tester), and Q-FOG CRH (Controlled Relative Humidity) testers.

We will review the basics of:

  • Safety features
  • Key tester components and systems
  • Onboard controls to ensure precise temperature control and water and electrolyte delivery
  • How to set up a test, including specimen mounting and fog and shower calibration
  • How to run a test, including typical material test times, evaluations, and tester validation
  • Optional accessories required for many tests, such as Wall Wash, External Fog Collection, Rapid Ramp Heaters, and Top-Mounted Swaying Shower Bar
  • Programming and operation using the Gen 4 dual touchscreen displays
