Introduction to Evaluations in Weathering Testing

Tuesday, 2 April at 10 am AEDT (UTC+11)

Performing natural and accelerated laboratory weathering testing is essential to understanding the performance of materials exposed to sunlight, heat, and water in many harsh outdoor environments. However, the exposures are only a part of the overall test program. To evaluate a materials' true performance, evaluations are needed in order to quantify the changes that the specimens have undergone. A wide range of evaluations can be performed based on the objectives of the test – visual inspections, color change, gloss loss, physical testing, and more.

This webinar will provide a comprehensive introduction to performing evaluations before, during, and after weathering test exposures, including:

  • What are evaluations and why are they so important
  • Which are the best evaluations to choose
  • What kind of data does each evaluation yield
  • How to interpret rating scales
  • Recommendations for evaluation frequency
  • How evaluations improve test variability and decrease uncertainty
  • How to use the data to make key decisions

Join us for this session to learn how to maximize your weathering exposures with proper evaluation intervals, techniques, and assessment of results.

This webinar will be presented by Darren Assey of Thermoline Scientific, the official distributor of Q-Lab products in Australia and New Zealand.
