Our Technical Experts will present an overview of corrosion in outdoor environments with a special focus on modern techniques for conducting accelerated testing of corrosion prevention strategies. We’ll cover:

• Fundamentals of corrosion, including corrosion thermodynamics and chemistry, types of corrosion, and ways to prevent corrosion
• Different outdoor corrosive environments and how to characterize them
• Laboratory accelerated corrosion testing, from early continuous salt spray standards to modern cyclic testing
• How modern corrosion test technology offers more realistic testing and better correlation to actual service environments
• Best practices for laboratory corrosion, including monitoring of corrosion testing and evaluating test specimens
